Connecting Teams.

It's this level of working knowledge of Solaris and the Joyent systems that makes you guys a premium service.
I use Joyent and they're rock-solid and responsive. Highly recommended.
I recently upgraded from shared hosting on Joyent to their dedicated Accelerator and love it.
Joyent is God's gift to Facebook developers
— Mark
The Joyent Facebook Accelerator works great.
— Andy
You guys provide the most incredible service on the Web
I am so glad I run all of my sites on Joyent's Accelerators. They've never let me down. The shared accelerators are great ($15/month) but the dedicated ones are a dream ($45/month)
Joyent rocks
The Joyent Accelerator is an amazing hosting platform that has been great for my websites. I highly recommend it to all Web entrepreneurs and developers!
I just upgraded to a Joyent Accelerator from my shared hosting. It's so awesome. Ultimate control, super speedy.
I'm really happy with the new setup (it's even better than the old one) and you've made the migration a cinch!
I just moved our app over from EC2 and the speed increase is amazing. It took me a minute to get used to the Solaris differences, but we couldn't be happier with the server.
— Ben Sharpe, Friends & Foes Studios
Digg's sending 8000 referrers/hour. Server not breaking a sweat; thank you, Joyent.
— John Gruber, Daring Fireball
The Shared Accelerators on Solaris rock. I love it!
I'm pulling off stuff on a daily basis that I wouldn't have dreamed of if it wasn't for Joyent and the gurus in their forums.
Joyent did an awesome job getting the shared hosting set up under Solaris.
— Scott Shillcock
It's a real pleasure being hosted with a company who really care for their customers. Big thank you to everyone at Joyent.
Shared hosting on Solaris totally rocks. I love it!
— Thomas Schranz
Joyent rocks.
— Thomas Hall
The OpenSolaris environment is everything I expected and more. You guys have done yourself proud.
If you’re looking for a Web host that has practically everything one could ever wish for, Joyent is the best I’ve seen (and I’ve seen too many to mention). Fast, easy to use and clever toolbox for users. One could only wish that everything online will get this well polished eventually.
We've been hosting our main site on a Large accelerator and it has been rock solid. It was easy to set up, and the performance has been great. The nicest feature is that most of our storage is on an NFS share that can be resized on demand, so as we need more disk space we just file a ticket and shortly after the disk space is increased.
— Marcus Roberts, Big File Box
My iPhone works great with Joyent’s IMAP – I love it.
— Raymond Brigleb, Needmore Designs
You folks have new server deployment down to a fine art.
— Erik Stainsby
It’s great to see that there are people with true vision and commitment to OSS in this industry.
— Michael Ströck
Your Accelerator infrastructure is the most brilliant and flexible platform ever.
— Chris, NinthSpace
Congratulations people, not just on the achievement [open sourcing Connector and Slingshot] but for the courage and vision.
Your vision and commitment is astonishing. It will be an honor hacking on this code base.
— Teroz, 6lines
I love this place. I really do.
— Robert Simplicio, Folding Farmer
I've gone all Joyent. It's drastically reducing my urges to purchase large servers to stick in the laundry room.
— Jay Edwards, Meangrape
The lack of a database within the Amazon Elastic Computing cloud is a killer for me. I’d rather pay more for a Joyent Accelerator and have a disk that doesn’t go away when the machine reboots or crashes.
— Joel Reymont, Wager Labs
Our Accelerator gives us 10 second reboots, raw power, and superb stability. Combined with Joyent’s superb support and commitment to building out expandable infrastructure on Solaris, I don’t know how we managed to stay with BlueHost for so long.
— Jeff Mancuso, Magnetk
If you are looking for great hosting, service, generous quotas, and a friendly community, then I highly recommend Joyent.
— Nick Carroll, ca.rroll.net
If you’re looking to deploy a Ruby on Rails application, you need to check out Joyent. The value is excellent, their team understands both development and deployment, and the system is powerful and scalable.
— Justin Garten, Postful
I’m hosted with Joyent, just in case you were wondering, they’re probably the best host I’ve ever had.
— Ashley Graham, The Smarter Fish
Joyent puts sexy back into email.
— Jeff Haynie, Hakano
I love Strongspace!
— David Kypuros
I am loving my Accelerator. If I were a race car driver, I'd have Joyent on the car.
— Noel Jackson, eight6
It is pretty cool to get root for $45 a month
— Linda Derezinski, GeoBliki
It's the best hosting you can get with fantastic community of people. Nowhere else will you find the level of expertise that exists in their forums. No where in any hosting company. Ever. Period. The Forum here is worth its weight in gold.
— Kyle Swank, Unlogikal
I think Joyent has VERY good customer service. I've had a couple of technical issues, and they respond quickly and appropriately. Anyone can put a server in a rack, but at some point everyone faces downtime and failures, and that's when the true character of a business comes through. You guys have been great.
I love you people
Another happy Joyent customer, until 2013!!
Joyent is the best thing that has ever happened to Facebook applications!
MARIN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA – March 13, 2008: Expands Social Networking partnerships by providing free Accelerators optimized for the Open Social platform.
The Connector suite of applications provide cool features such as search, tagging, and RSS feeds that we believe will make your life easier on a day to day basis.
All of the Joyent Web-based applications share a consistent three-pane user interface that puts the same controls in the same place, whether you’re reading email, scheduling events, or uploading a file. They work seamlessly together and can be easily shared with the other members of your team.
The Connect app ties everything together. It’s a place where items from any of the other parts of the system — mail messages, contacts, events, files — can be collected into related groups. Smart groups in the Connect app pull in items from any of the other apps on the system, from any users, allowing you to easily manage the items related to a project.

Access your email from anywhere, using Joyent’s web-based email interface. With access to all of your mailboxes, an editor for sending new messages, and a fast search feature, your email is always as close as the nearest web browser.
Joyent also provides full support for the industry-standard mail protocols IMAP and SMTP, which means you can use your regular desktop email clients, such as Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, and Mozilla Thunderbird.

Organize your events into as many separate calendars as you need. Publish your calendars in industry-standard iCalendar format, which allows them to be subscribed to from apps such as iCal and Mozilla Sunbird, or in RSS format, which allows them to be subscribed to from any RSS aggregator. Shared calendar subscriptions can be password-protected or available to the public.

The People application provides a shared database of contact and address book information. Easy to edit and easy to search, the contacts information is also integrated with the rest of the Joyent suite: when adding recipients to email messages or attendees to a calendar event, you have instant access to everyone in People. Joyent supports LDAP for searching from desktop clients such as Microsoft Outlook and Apple Address Book.

File sharing made easy. Organize and store your files on a server that’s accessible from anywhere. Put your important documents on your Joyent Connector, and you can access them from your office, your laptop, and your home. Integration with the other software on the system makes it easy to deal with email attachments (both the ones you send and the ones you receive), and, with tagging, to associate files with calendar events and people.

Sharing bookmarks with your team is fast and fun.
The Bookmarks app allows you to keep track and share interesting or frequently visited websites. There is a special group of bookmarks that shows you what your team members are tracking on the web. As with any data in the system, you can use your tags to group your bookmarks, and notifications to draw a team members attention to a specific bookmark.

In July 2007, we made the Collaboration Suite free + open. Free in that anyone can sign up for a complimentary 2 User/ 2 GB plan, and open in that anyone can view the source, download it via svn, and contribute. Need hosting? No problem. You can get started with a hosted account for your entire team for as little as $15 per month. Sound good? Well then, let’s get you Connected now. Just push that big orange ‘Get Connected’ button on the left.
And once you are ready to go, check out our User Guide guide that will walk you through the steps of adding New Users, setting up your Calendar, tagging and so forth. Really good stuff there people. Enjoy!
